Artist's Description
This painting from 1986 was done after a particularly unpleasant clash with my father. After the conflict, I retired to the basement to brood and paint my blood-red anger onto the canvas.
By morning I had the base done and worked against time to complete it before I calmed down completely. Honestly, I have no idea what the fight was about and only recall that it was a perceived slight and that my anger was staggeringly excessive.
While he actually thought it was one of my best and visceral pieces, I remained both horrified and fascinated by it.
A month later it was the first piece I have ever had accepted into a museum or a show. After three years of haunting me in my dining room I have decided to put it up for sale.
Currently the painting is matted and framed which is how I plan to ship it. Because of the media involved the painting has a variety of rich textures which are protected by the glass of the frame. The measurements are for the frame.

Most of my paintings are abstract, and, not surprisingly most of my photographs are not abstract. In many ways, my paintings are more personal and intimate. There are probably many reasons for this, and I suspect one...
